Rodeo Corpus Christi & WCRA Announce $600,000 Payout for 2024
Rodeo Corpus Christi and World Champion Rodeo Alliance (WCRA) announced an increased payout of over $600,000 for the 2024 WCRA Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) Event on May 7-11. The event coincides with the annual Buccaneer Days Festival and the PBR Velocity Tour Finals. In addition to the $545,500 Triple Crown of Rodeo, a purse of over $55,000
will be awarded to WCRA Division Youth (DY) athletes at the CEAT Specialty Tires DY Showcase Rodeo Presented by King Ranch. The TCR is a series of major rodeo events that includes an annual bonus of $1 million to any one athlete or collection of athletes who win first place in any three consecutive WCRA Major Rodeos. The WCRA also announced a modification to the 2024 event format with the Timed Event Qualifying rounds being substituted with a Wild Card Round. The nightly performances at Rodeo Corpus Christi will commence with the “Wild Card” round of competition. Twelve athletes in each discipline will compete
for four spots. If these athletes succeed in progressing, they will join the top eight
on the WCRA Leaderboard. In the final performance, fans will see the top seven athletes compete in the Showdown Round. Each discipline’s top three performers will

the fastest time in Pink Buckle history for owners Grant and Rayel Little. Cullins clocked :16.521 on a standard pattern, winning the second go-round for a total $20,000 and ultimately the 2023 Pink Buckle Derby average championship for a total $40,000 - $32,000 for the owner and $4,000 each to
the sire and breeder. Cullins and MJ Segers Fast Lane clocked :17.061 in the first-round and won the average with a combined :33.582 on two runs. Pink Buckle Derby Reserve Champion Stacy Glause, who also won the first round with a time of :16.767, rode SG Lifeinthefastlane, by The Goodbye Lane.
Nine of the top 10 times in Round One were sub-17-second runs on a standard pattern,

Tonozzi Takes 1st & 2nd In The 2023 Pink Buckle Futurity
The Pink Buckle Futurity Round 1 was held Oct. 4 and Round 2 was held Oct. 6 at the Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Oklahoma. As the nominations and entries increased, the payout increased. For 2023, there was
a guaranteed $4.1 million dollar payout. Brittany Tonozzi dominated the Pink Buckle Futurity, taking first and second place and winning $161,607 as owner and breeder. Her futurity run came aboard two 4-year- old Tres Seis mares - both bred, raised, and trained in Brittany and husband Garrett Tonozzi’s EquiStat All-Time Leading Owners program. She won the $52,000 average title aboard Tres Chasin Babe PZ (out of Babe On The Chase by Chasin Firewater), owned by Teton Ridge, with times of :17.028
and :16.551, and finished second on her own Chitichiti Bangbang (out of Kisskiss Bangbang by Dash Ta Fame) with times of :16.997 and :16.780. Tonozzi led the Pink Buckle Futurity Round 2 with an astounding :16.551 on a standard pattern nearing Brandon Cullins record time of :16.521 on MJ Segers Fast Lane, which was the fastest time in Pink Buckle history.
