THIS BOOGIE FIRES
We will begin the pedigree history of This Boogie Fires with her sire, showing how we can’t always judge a book by its cover. The sire of This Boogie Fires is Walk Thru Fire,
a 1997 stallion bred by Vessels Stallion Farm and the Allred Brothers. He was purchased as a yearling by Hall of Fame trainer D. Wayne Lukas, William Farish of Lanes End Farm, and Ed Gaylord II, former owner of the Lazy E Ranch and Arena. Walk Thru Fire was purchased in 2001 by Jaime Gomez and is currently owned by a syndicate.
Walk Thru Fire won only two of his 21 starts, earning $94,280. His wins came in the trials to the 1999 Los Alamitos Two Million Futurity-G1, where he was seventh in the finals, and an allowance race. He also qualified to the Golden State Futurity-G1, finishing sixth in the finals. At three, he qualified to the El Primero Del Ano Derby-G2 and the Vandy’s Flash Handicap. Despite the modest race record, Walk Thru Fire had the pedigree credentials,
or “the book,” to retire to stand at stud. Since his retirement, he has sired the earners of over $33 million, including Champions Last To Fire, Higher Fire, Separate Fire, Jess Walking Thru, Flame N Flash, Pink Boots RM, Walk Thru Crystal and Heza Dasha Fire.
The pedigree credentials that Walk Thru Fire had to become a successful sire began with his sire, First Down Dash, the 1987 World Champion, Champion 3 Year Old and the Champion 3-Year-Old Colt. First Down Dash is the all-time leading money earning sire of over $85 million. First Down Dash is by Dash For Cash and out of First Prize Rose by Gallant Jet by Jet Deck. The dam of First Prize Rose is Rose Bug by Lady Bug‘s Moon.
Bred by the Allred Brothers, Sweet Beduino is the dam of Walk Thru Fire. She is a stakes placed runner, with seconds in the 1987 Santa Cruz County Futurity and 1987 Prescott Downs Futurity-G3. Sweet Beduino is the dam of 18 foals,17 starters and 16 ROM, including stakes winners A Dash Of Beduino and This Jet Is Royal, and stakes placed runners Posting The Colors, Flying With Color and One Sweet Dash. One Sweet Dash, by First Down Dash, is the dam of World Champion One Dashing Eagle and 2010 Golden State Million Futurity G1 winner One Sweet Jess.
Sweet Beduino is by Beduino, the all- time leading Thoroughbred sire of running Quarter Horses with earnings of over $13 million. His leading earner is 1989 All American Futurity-G1 winner Strawberry Silk. The mating of First Down Dash with Sweet Beduino puts the nick between Beduino and First Down Dash in the pedigree of This Boogie Fires.
J Fire Up, the 2017 Champion 2 Year Old, Champion 2-Year-Old Filly, led This Boogie Fires to her 2017 Broodmare of the Year title.
J Fire Up has earned over $1.4 million on the track.
