This takes us to the mare Champagne Woman. She is the dam of Special Lineage and Raise Your Glass, making these two stallions three- quarter brothers. Thus both of Hot Cash 123’s World Champions not only trace to the Raise A Native sire line, but they trace to three-quarter brothers from that sire line.
Hot Cash 123 is a daughter of Takin On The Cash, by Dash For Cash. Takin On The Cash was the 1990 AQHA Racing Champion Two-Year- Old Colt; the 1991 AQHA Racing Champion Three-Year-Old and the AQHA Racing Champion Three-Year-Old Colt. Takin On The Cash is the sire of 628 ROM with 63 stakes winners that have earned $14,522,310.
Takin On The Cash is out of Take You On, by Easy Jet and out of Azuree, by Azure Te. This is the second cross of Easy Jet on an Azure Te mare in the pedigree of Cold Cash 123. This then brings together the breeding theory of “returning the blood of the sire’s dam.”
Here are a couple of more examples of the Easy Jet/Azure Te influence on Oak Tree Special runners. Furrtreeous, one of Oak Tree Special’s three Southwest Juvenile Championship winners, is out of Beeline Feline, by Rare Form. Her dam is Six Kitties, by Six Fols, by Easy Six, by Easy Jet. Six Kitties is out of Azure Kitty, by Azure Te giv- ing us another example of “returning the blood of the sire’s dam” in the Oak Tree Special runners.
Our next example of this breeding pattern is Red Oak Special, by Oak Tree Special. This runner is the winner of the New Mexico Juvenile Championship-G3 and a multiple graded stakes finalist in such events as the Dash For Cash Futurity-G1. His dam is Streakin Link, by Streakin Six, by Easy Six, by Easy Jet. The dam of Streakin Link is Vital Link,
a daughter of Twelve Five, by Azure Te. Twelve Five is the dam of Easy Dozen, the broodmare sire of Oak Tree Special.
THE TAIL FEMALE LINE OF THE CHAMPION
One of the pieces of information that accompanies a summary of a horse’s racing accomplishments is the state in which the horse is born or bred. We commonly find that they hail from Texas, Oklahoma, California, New Mexico and Michigan. Michigan?
Yes our current World Champion hails from Michigan, and if you look at the horses that come from Cold Cash 123’s female family you find that it is a very successful line of horses on the Michigan racing circuit. But as we delve into this female family we find that it is deep in Quarter Running Horse history with ties to places like New Mexico, Oklahoma, Texas and California.
The dam of Hot Cash 123 is the stakes-placed mare To Hot To Hug, a mare bred by Dr. Walter Conley and his wife Barbara. Dr. Conley, a veterinarian, is the founder of this line of mares bringing them to the Michigan racing scene. It has been reported by the Bays that it was Dr. Conley’s goal to breed the “classic” 440-yard quarter running horse.
To Hot To Hug placed third in the 1988 Michigan Derby. She was second three times and third three times in her six starts with a 90 speed index. To Hot To Hug has produced 13 foals with 12 of them going to the racetrack earning $212,928 with 11 ROM and two stakes winners and four stakes-placed performers. Her stakes winners were Overpowered and Hot Hugger.
The sire of To Hot To Hug was Easy Six, by Easy Jet. This gives Cold Cash 123 his third cross to Easy Jet with a breeding pattern of 4x4x5 to this great stallion. This is a second linebreeding pattern in Cold Cash 123.
The dam of To Hot To Hug was the Conley-bred Tiny Lou Etta. Her sire is the legendary Tiny’s Gay. Tiny Lou Etta was a stakes winner in the Sugar and Spice Futurity at Beulah Park. She won three races in eight starts. Tiny Lou Etta is the dam of eight foals with eight starters earning seven ROM on the racetrack. She is the dam of one stakes win- ner in Fanci Ending, by Dashing Cleat, who won the 2005 Great Lakes Quarter Horse Association Stallion Service Auction Derby.
The Bays’ success in 2011 wasn’t confined to Cold Cash 123. They are the breeders and owners of Mr Ease 123, a son of Holland Ease. This gelding was a finalist in the 2011 All American Futurity-G1. His dam is Barbs Beduino, a race-winning daughter of If One Can Dream. If One
APHA World Champion I Do One Two Three is a half-brother to AQHA World Champion Cold Cash 123. Both are out of the mare Hot Cash 123.
Azure Te appears several times in the pedigree of Cold Cash 123.
