In 2012, the Quarter Horse Racing Industry Development Program will fund $100,000 in added money for the Ontario Sires Stakes Futurity and $100,000 in added money for the Ontario Sires Stakes Derby.
Breeders Awards and Bonuses...
Ontario Bred and Ontario Foaled horses that are also Ontario Sired earn maximum points toward Breeders Awards, Stallion Awards and Stakes Breeder Bonuses. Ontario Sired horses are eligible for the Ontario Sired Purse Bonus in unrestricted overnight racing.
An Eye to the Future...
The Program will also introduce the Ontario Sires Stakes Maturity in 2013, and provide multi-year investment in an Ontario Sires Stakes Program for Quarter Horse racing.
Stallions Standing in Ontario have Distinct Advantages...
Stallions standing in Ontario have access to a quality growing broodmare band. Broodmares who meet Ontario residency requirements produce Ontario Bred horses.
Ontario Bred horses race for an added $4,000 purse bonus in open racing and have restricted overnight and stakes racing opportunities.
To be recognized as an Ontario Accredited Stallion a sire must be owned or leased by an Ontario Resident. Find the complete list of Ontario Accredited Stallions in the Quarter Horse Program section at:
