Phoebe’s Moon Bug was a two-time stakes winner in the 1973 Leo Handicap Division 2 and the 1973 Las Ninas Handicap. She had
a race record of 16 starts with four wins and two seconds earning $13,089.
Phoebe’s Moon Bug is the dam of 12 foals, including 11 starters, three stakes winners and 9 ROM. Brace, who was just a foal when Phoebe’s Moon Bug was purchased by the San Jose Cattle Company, was the first stakes winner for Phoebe’s Moon Bug, winning the 1981 La Primera Del Ano Derby. 1989 Lake Amistad Championship winner Chargin Ace was her second stakes winner. Phoebe’s Moon Bug’s foals have earned $843,017.
When we expand our look at Phoebe’s Moon Bug, we find that her daughters
have made her truly a blue hen mare. For example, Brace is the dam of Go Together Handicap-G3 winner Brace It, the dam of Catch You Now, who is the dam of Sam Houston Futurity-G2 winner Sassmaster. Phoebette is a daughter of Phoebe’s Moon Bug and she is the dam Swiftette, the dam of Whataway To Go Handicap winner Corona Crystal. Corona Crystal is the dam of Ed Burke Million Futurity-G1 winner Walk Thru Crystal. Phoebette is also the dam of Phoebes Runaway, who is the dam of Heritage Place Futurity-G1 winner Phoebes O’toole. Ms Timeto Fly is another daughter of Phoebe’s Moon Bug and she is the dam of Southern Bell Classic winner Phoebes Secret. Phoebes Secret is the dam of Our Precious Secret, who is the dam of Zoobilee, a five-time stakes winner including a win in the Louisiana Champions Day Derby-G2. Go Dashing Nancy, another daughter of Phoebe’s Moon Bug, is the dam of Fiesty Spirit, the dam of Ontario Sire Stakes Derby winner Fiesty Icon.
Dashing Phoebe raced from 1985 to 1987 running 20 races with eleven wins, three seconds and one third earning $609,553.
She won five stakes, including the Kansas Futurity-G1, Sun Country Futurity-G1, Kansas Derby-G1, Rainbow Silver Cup-G1 and the Go Together Handicap at four. Dashing Phoebe was named the 1986 Champion 2-Year-Old Filly and the 1987 Champion 3-Year-Old Filly.
Bobby Cox bought Dashing Phoebe in 1992 and sold her to the partnership of K. Goodfellow and Dr. T. Carlson in 1998, with Kirk Goodfellow taking sole ownership in 1999. She lived out her life owned by Goodfellow.
The Dashing Phoebe produce record has made her an AQHA Dam of Distinction with 22 foals earning 16 ROM from 18 starters.

  This includes five stakes winners and two AQHA Champions in Special Phoebe and Heartswideopen. The other stakes winners are Dashingfordestiny, Furyofthewind and Solid Demand. Her foals earned $2,371,102.
Special Phoebe, the first Champion out
of Dashing Phoebe, won six stakes races in 1995 including the World’s Championship Classic-G2, Rainbow Silver Cup-G2 and Jet Deck Handicap-G3. She was named the 1995 Champion Aged Mare. Special Phoebe is the dam of 28 foals, 25 to race and 19 ROM. Her foals include California Derby Challenge-G3 and Corona Chick Handicap-G3 winner A Special Sno Flo. Her second stakes winner is Flare For Ivory, winner of the 2017 Arapahoe Park Sprint Challenge.
Heartswideopen won 11 of her 13 starts with stakes wins in the Ruidoso Futurity-G1, All American Futurity-G1, Ruidoso Derby-G1 and Rainbow Derby-G1. This mare just missed the three year old Ruidoso Triple Crown when she finished second in the All American Derby-G1. Heartswideopen earned $1.8 million and was named the
2007 Champion 2 Year Old, Champion 2-Year-Old Filly and 2008 Champion 3
Year Old and Champion 3-Year-Old Filly. Heartswideopen is the dam of five foals, four starters and three ROM. Her leading money earner is All American Derby-G1 finalist Bellissima Chocolata.
TQHA Sire’s Cup Derby-RG3 winner Dashingfordestiny is the dam of 12 starters
 and eight ROM, including stakes winners Tempting Destiny, winner of the West Texas Derby-G3, and FM Im A Zantanaz Too, winner of the Sam Houston Futurity-G2. Pride of Texas Handicap-G3 winner Solid Demand is the fourth stakes winner out of Dashing Phoebe.
Furyofthewind is a multiple Grade 1 stakes finalist with a win in the California Derby Challenge-G3. He is the sire of horses that have won over $7.1 million. His runners include 2013 Golden State Million Futurity-G1 winner Turbulent Times and 2013 Heritage Place Derby-G1 winner Brace For Bernal, the 2013 Champion 3-Year-Old Colt.
Allamericandreamgirl is a stakes finalist out of Dashing Phoebe and she is the dam
of American Runaway, the 2010 Ruidoso Futurity-G1 winner, the 2010 Champion 2 Year Old and Champion 2-Year-Old Colt. American Runaway is the sire of horses that have won over $2 million from a limited number of foals, including Duponte, winner of the Heritage Place Futurity-G1 and
the Harrah’s Entertainment Futurity-G3. Duponte came back at three to win the title of Champion 3-Year-Old Colt earning a third in the All American Derby-G1 and
a fourth in the Heritage Place Derby-G2. Allamericandreamgirl is also the dam of 2012 North Dakota Horse Park Derby winner Feature Dreamgirl, and she is the dam of Canterbury Park Quarter Horse Derby winner Feature Runaway.
