                OHA Mystery Derby
VALIANT HIGH

Valiant High battled his way to his fifth victory in the $87,920 OHA Mystery Derby at Will Rogers Downs on Nov. 9.
Ridden by Agustin Silva, Valiant High broke in sixth and showed grit, grabbing the lead mid way through the 350 yards. They crossed the finish line a head in front.
Trained by Charlton Hunt, the gelding stopped the timer in :17.683, posting a 92 speed index. He brought home the $35,668 winner’s share of the purse for owner Jerry Windham, boosting his total bankroll to $76,228. Raced in Iowa and Oklahoma, Valiant High has won five races from 12 starts. He was a final- ist in the Speedhorse Derby earlier this year and won his Oct. 25 trial to this race as the fastest qualifier.
You And Me Partners bred Valiant High out
of winner Also A High. She ran third in the West Texas Derby-G3 and was also a finalist in the Ruidoso Futurity-G1. Also A High has produced 100% money earners from 28 starters, including top earner Crater Lake, who won the Remington Park Futurity-G2 and was a finalist in the Rainbow Futurity-G1 and Ruidoso Futurity-G1.
Peves Candy Cowboy (Cartels Candy Man-PYC Eye Candy) was second under Gonzalo Valles Jr.
for owner Michael Michan Pittman and trainer Antonio Hernandez.
Ridden by Daniel Torres, Tarish (Prospect To The Top-Fast Prize Zoom) finished in third for owner J. Lloyd Yother and trainer Dee Keener.
Watah Litical Jess (Apollitical Jess-Lotawatah), Missapollitical (Apollitical Jess-Eye Love It), A Temptest (Tempting Dash-Famous Mariah), SS Wagon Painted Bay (PYC Paint Your Wagon-SS Southern Lady), Valliance (Valiant Hero-This Lady Likes Cash), Scardey Pants (Valiant Hero-Jess Because I Could) and VF Jedi Returns (High Rate Of Return- Corona Couture) completed the order of finish.

My Favorite Candy picked a fine time to break his maiden. Making his seventh career start, the 2-year-old gelding won the $29,925 AQRA
President’s Fall Futurity at Turf Paradise on Nov. 3. After posting the second-quickest effort in the
Oct. 13 trials, covering the 350 yards in :17.790, My Favorite Candy came back and was the quickest in the field for the finals. He finished his stakes-win- ning trip in :17.528, registering a 102 speed index.
Prepped by Guillermo Morales, My Favorite Candy broke from the 8-hole in the middle of the pack and was running in second at both the first call and entering the stretch. Jockey Kevin Carbajal engineered a driving finish, and My Favorite Candy caught Favorite Latin Lover and beat his foe to the wire by a 1/2-length margin. The gelding brought home a $14,963 payday that gives him a $19,263 cumulative bankroll.
ABA Quarter Horses LLC, owns My Favorite Candy, who made his competitive debut in his home state at Los Alamitos in April.
Guadalupe Bujanda bred My Favorite Candy in California out of stakes placed Send The Candy Wagon. My Favorite Candy is her first starter.
Favorite Latin Lover (Favorite Cartel-Jess Charming) placed second for owner/trainer Rigoberto Guillen. Joseph Belloc Jr. drew the riding assignment. Separate Delight (Seperate Interest-Truly A Delightful) was third under Luis Valenzuela for owner Bobby Gilstrap and trainer Matthew Fales.
Captain PYC (First Prize Doc-Captivating Cara), Jessapolitical Guy (Apollitical Jess-Famous Corona Lady), WR Jokers R Wild (Fantastic Corona Jr-JA Desert Flight), This Chick Rules (Chicks Regard- Rime And Rule), Scandalous Dasher (First Down Dash-One Famous Ermans) and Blame It On Mexico V (Corona Cartel-Viva Mexico) completed the field. Heswatchingoveryou scratched.
AQRA President’s Fall Derby
UNRESTRAINED

Unrestrained scored his third career stakes victory in the $30,875 AQRA President’s Fall Derby at Turf Paradise on Nov. 3.
Topping the derby field with a :17.427 run in the Oct. 14 trials, Unrestrained was even quicker in the stakes final, covering the 350 yards in :17.393 for a 106 speed index. Breaking well from the 3-gate in the finals, Unrestrained led by a head at the first call and going into the stretch. The gelding held off Moonflash Deluxe, hitting the wire first by a nose.
Rigoberto Guillen owns Unrestrained, who now holds six wins in eight starts thus far this season. His success in 2019 includes two other stakes victories: the AQRA President’s Open Spring Derby held at this same track in April, and the Animas Stakes at SunRay Park in May.
Guillen also trains Unrestrained, who had Joseph Belloc Jr., in the irons. The win produced a $15,438 payday that pushed his total earnings to $88,123—with nearly $73,000 of that sum coming in races this year.
Edward C. Allred bred Unrestrained out of lightly raced Thinking Out Loud. She has produced 100% winners from four starters, including 3-time stakes winner Blabber. Unrestrained is the third stakes winner of the brood and the top earner.
Moonflash Deluxe (First Moonflash-Corona Deluxe) placed a close second for his best finish yet in stakes company. Yuriana Ramirez owns Moonflash Deluxe, a Jose Botello trainee who had Luis Valenzuela aboard. Ramirez also owns One Famous Icon (Mr Jess Perry-One Famous Lady), another Guillen trainee, that came in third. Mark Jasso drew the riding assignment.
The remaining order of finish was Nobodysfaster (Separatist-Letsgetitstarted), Jessa Cat (Stray Cat- Jessa Runner), Katella Dolly (Foose-Katie Katella), Tamura (Kiddy Up-Fortheloveofyou) and DW Carolina Flash (Coronado Cartel-Lucca). Stel A Secret and Whatta Ko both scratched.
