HEZA MADE MAN
 By Danny Camp
This field didn’t qualify for the million dollar finals, but running at $40,000 is a pretty good deal. Ten lined
up for the 400-yard stakes
at Evangeline Downs on a cloudy evening with a slight crosswind on Dec. 15. Heza Made Man stepped away from the 3-post in third. With grit and determina- tion and a long stride down the stretch, he was able to finish a neck to the good. Rolando Del Rio Pina was in the saddle and made a fantastic ride. They crossed the line in :19.666 to earn
a speed index of 98. The
gelded son of Heza Fast Dash also earned first place money of $24,000. That ups his
total earnings to $36,750, and his race record stands at two wins out of six races.
Those two wins were from his last three starts.
Heza Made Man is owned by Martina Carmen Araujo Diaz and trained by Joe Davis. Bred in Louisiana by Rodney and Phillip Debenedetto, the gelding is out of Six Streakin Salute. She has produced eight starters that have tallied ten wins with two of those being stakes. Philips Streakin is her best product.
Fast Dashin Perry (Ajs Fast Dash-Senorita Perry) overcame a bad start with help from Jockey
Rolando Cabrera to pocket second place money.
His team includes owner Armando Vasquez Rodriguez and trainer Barbara Alcantara.
Game Overtime (Fast Prize Jordan- Good Game Meg) got the first call at the break and was able to hang on for third place money. He is owned by Silver Spectacular Racing and trained by Ray Robbins. Luis Vivanco was in the irons.
Followed by Fast N Fun Jordan (Fast Prize Jordan-Streakin Fast N Fun), Cartel Majic (Five Bar Cartel-Slinkys Magic), Junie Blue (Jess Louisiana Blue-China Beach Babe), Marcysfastdash (Heza Fast Dash-Jessbye Marcy), Shez Game (Game Patriot-Fit To Celebrate) & Texas Bully (Stoli-Del Shake).
