     Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale September 2-4, 2022 Preliminary Results
The 2022 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale
was held Sept. 2-4 at Ruidoso Downs Race Track during All American weekend. The
sale saw 360 head sell with gross receipts of $26,323,500, which was an 11% increase of over $1 million compared to last year. Seventy- seven yearlings sold for six figures and 23 of those sold upwards of the $200,000 mark. The average price per yearling was $73,121, a record breaking number that is 10% higher than 2021, topping all other previous years.
The sales high-seller, which sold on the second day of the sale for $460,000, was Hip #276 Goodtyme (Apollitical Jess-Havanah Goodtime, Ivory James). Consigned by Bobby D. Cox and purchased by West Texas Racing Partnership, the sorrel colt is a half-brother to Champion Duponte and is out of AQHA Dam of Distinction Havanah Goodtime.
MJ Farms, agent consigned the $350,000 co-second-highest seller, Hip #323 Asscher (FDD Dynasty-Astica, Jesse James Jr). Pur- chased by Lance Bland, the sorrel filly is a half- sister to stakes winners Fanncee and Wente. She is out of Champion Astica and her second dam is Champion Alice K White.
Lazy E Ranch, agent for Victor Diaz con- signed the other $350,000 co-second-highest seller, Hip #336 D Acountant (Apollitical Blood-Breck N Records, PYC Paint Your Wagon). Purchased by Jose J. Espinoza, Aurelio Juavez and Adam P. Sanchez, the brown colt is a full brother to Champion Trump My Record.
