The Dunns keep busy year-round at their Dunn Ranch in Wynnewood, Oklahoma. Not long after concluding their All American Oaks celebrations, they were readying yearlings for the Heritage Place sale.
Political Rose will eventually become
one of their broodmares. The Dunns bought her for $57,000 at the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale from the consignment of Lazy E Ranch.
“She was a pretty filly,” said Bendi. “Matt really loves the dam side of that family, and you can’t go wrong with Apollitical Jess.”
Stone Chase Stables LLC bred Political
Rose in Oklahoma from three-time stakes winner Cartel Rosie. The mare has produced six winners from eight starters and is from the family of Champion Tiny First Effort.
Miss Beth Dutton (Kiss My Hocks-Time For Jess) finished in second place for jockey James Flores, trainer Clinton Crawford, and owners Conda and Judy Maze. The filly won the 2022 Rainbow Oaks-G1 and 2021 Rainbow Juvenile Stakes.
Esgar Ramirez piloted Shesa Relentless Gal (Hes Relentless-A Snowy Cartel) to third place for trainer Manuel Rodriguez
and owner Elva Rodriguez. Shesa Relentless Gal qualified for the 2022 Rainbow Oaks but lost all chance after breaking through the gate and
was unplaced.
Completing the field were KJ Brandy
(Carters Cartel-Jess Wild), Kiss The Cartel (Kiss My Hocks-A Snowy Cartel), Mperativ (Apollitical Jess-Miss Aguilar), Family Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Heartbeat), Sassalitical (Apollitical Jess-Jess Sass Me), Sunshine Nmy Pocket (Hes Relentless-PYC First Prize Fany), and Toxic Relationship (Fly Thru The Fire- Shez Jess Toxic).
