LQHBA Sale Futurity-RG1
SAN LORENZO MOON

The $520,166 Louisiana Quarter Horse Breeders Association Sale Futurity-RG1 was the headlining event on Delta Downs’ American Quarter Horse program on Sept.
3. At the conclusion of the 350-yard fixture, San Lorenzo Moon stood tallest, defeating longshot Cool Ya Jets and even-money favorite Everythingyouneed in a thrilling finish.
With jockey David Alvarez in the saddle, San Lorenzo Moon broke alertly in second and dueled bravely from start to finish.
After overtaking early leader Onemorewildtrain, San Lorenzo Moon shrugged off determined bids from Cool Ya Jets and Everythingyouneed to prevail by a neck at the finish. The brown filly stopped the timer in :17.518 over a muddy (sealed) track, earning a speed index of 92 for owner Rogelio Marquez Jr.
“It was a very tough final, but she showed her heart, and we are so proud of San Lorenzo Moon,” Marquez shared with the media following his charge’s victory.
