Downs at Albuquerque Fall Championship-G1

World Champion and millionaire Danjer made short work of a field of 10 in
the $300,000 Downs at Albuquerque Fall Championship-G1 on Sept. 25.
Piloted by jockey Cody Smith, Danjer was sent off as the odds-on favorite in the 440-yard fixture, and the six-year-old brown gelding justified the favoritism.
Breaking smartly at the start in first, he grabbed the lead and cleared his rivals in the early stages.
Danjer maintained a clear advantage through the lane and won by a measured three- quarters of a length at the finish.
He covered the distance in the fast time of :21.091. Danjer’s final clocking earned a speed index of 99 in the impressive effort.
The facile victory marked the third consecutive stakes win for Danjer in
2022. He also won the Canterbury Park Championship Challenge-G3 where he set a New Track Record, and the Debbie Schauf
