Bred in New Mexico by MJ Farms and a $20,000 graduate of the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale, Talbott is out of the Mr Jess Perry mare Diamondia.
In addition to breeding the winner, MJ Farms also bred the second-place finisher White Lightenin and the third-place finisher Wood Dee Queen.
Ridden by Mario Delgado and owned by Denis and Julie Schoenhofer, White Lightenin (Eye Am King-Alice K White) broke in the
air at the start and rallied gamely to secure
the place spot for trainer James Gonzalez III. The multiple stakes-placed sorrel gelding, who also finished third in the Zia Juvenile Stakes
at Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 7, was sold for $32,000 at the Ruidoso New Mexico Bred Yearling Sale. White Lightenin was the second- fastest qualifier to this race
Wood Dee Queen (Eye Am King-Miss Woody Dee) and jockey Sergio Becerra Jr. finished in third place after stumbling at the break. The sorrel filly is owned by J & SM Inc. and Don and M. Lane Reynolds. Conditioned by Fred Danley, Wood Dee Queen won her trial heat going away by 1 1/2- lengths and is a two-time winner from five starts.
Codex (Big Daddy Cartel-Astica), Flashtoglory (First Moonflash-JP Glory Be), Drinking Champagne (Big Daddy Cartel- Champagne Perry), Blazin Chamisa (Jess A Chicks-A Major Chamisa), Shes So Salty (TF Featured Effort-Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle), RC Jessa Flashn (A Passion For Flashin-Remember Me Jess), and Fine Am Eye (Eye Am King- Starsmith) completed the order of finish.
