Eric Valenzuela in the Sept. 25 New Mexico State Fair Juvenile at the Downs at Albuquerque. The trainer saddled Mr Tres Effort, Jess A Response, and Doin Somethin Right to finish one-two-three.
Bettors made Mr Tres Effort the 7-2 favorite in the 400-yard Juvenile. Jockey Luis Flores-Garcia got the gelding away from the 9-gate well in second, and they quickly went to the lead.
Mr Tres Effort had a lenght at one point and won by three-quarters of a length in :19.598.
Valenzuela trains Mr Tres Effort for owner-breeder Carlos Paez. A two-time winner prior to the New Mexico State Fair Juvenile, Mr Tres Effort had finished fourth in his two stakes efforts.
Paez bred Mr Tres Effort in New Mexico from winner Beyond 15. Mr Tres Effort is the mare’s first starter and winner. Mr Tres Effort’s third dam is multiple graded stakes winner Senorita Tres, who produced stakes winners Politicaly Correct and Brookstone Grey.
Sergio Becerra Jr. rode Jess A Response (Jess A Chicks-Miss Call Me First) to second for Valenzuela and owners Mike Abraham and Cheryl Stokes. Abraham bred the gelding, who is still a maiden.
Doin Something Right (Eye Am King-Start Somethin Bad) finished third for Valenzuela, jockey Adrian Ramos, and owners Empire Racing and Pavon Racing. The gelding previously won in his racing debut and had a second and two thirds.
Completing the field were Cartel Superstar (Big Daddy Cartel-Woodys Allstar), Demi Leigh (Bodacious Dash-Ima Gator Fan), Wahine (Corona Surfer- Strawflinfire), Jess Stevie (Jess A Chicks-Stevie Six), Jenavi (Big Daddy Cartel-C Twister Seis), Easy On
The Eye (Eye Am King-Thirty Fourth), and Big Daddy Forever (Big Daddy Cartel-First N Forever). Just En King and Sun Harvest were scratched.
Labor Day Weekend #2 Stakes

esa Party Wagon, a 4-year-old bay gelding
owned and trained by Juan Manuel Baeza, broke sharply on top from his rail post and sped to a wire- to-wire victory in the $75,000 Labor Day Weekend #2 Stakes at Ruidoso Downs on Sept. 4.
Ridden by Justine Klaiber, Hesa Party Wagon went 350 yards in :17.029, just missing the track record of :17.006 set by Planet Holland in the 2006 Higheasterjet Handicap-G3. The gelding earned a 108 speed index and the $45,000 winner’s share of the purse.
Hesa Party Wagon was making his first start since May 30, when he scored a neck victory in the $25,000 John Andreini Memorial Stakes at Ruidoso Downs. The gelding has won six of nine starts and has banked $119,464, of which $73,414 has been earned from four outs this year.
Hesa Party Wagon was bred in Oklahoma by Buddy Albin, and he was purchased by Baeza for $8,000 at the 2019 Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The gelding is out of Lil Miss Party Doll, a winning homebred mare, and he is a full brother to stakes winner Relentless Doll. His second dam, Party Doll, produced winner and stakes placed Jazz Party.
KJ Frankie B (Apollitical Jess-Xquizit) finished second, one length behind Hesa Party Wagon, for owners John Lee, Kathy Lee, and Ruben Mares. Adrian Ramos rode the homebred 5-year-old gelding for trainer Wes Giles. Scarlett Hill Farm Inc.’s Won Famous Dash (Giorgino-Lil Famous Dash) ran third. Bryan Candanosa rode the homebred 4-year- old gelding for trainer Marc Jungers. In a deadheat for fourth were TLC Apache Heart (The Louisiana Cartel- Apache Heart) & Elmer (FDD Dynasty-Treasured Dreams). Followed by Shott Gun (Valiant Hero-Eye Popping), Mitey Political (Apollitical Jess-Mitey Moon), Warning (Tempting Dash-Brenda Beautiful), Flashin Fire (First Moonflash-Episode Of Fire), and Charlies Fast Man (Apollitical Blood-Alltherightcurves).

W Partners’ B Leaving scored a 3/4-length
victory in the $58,531 Adequan Ruidoso Derby Challenge at Ruidoso Downs on Aug. 27. Prepped by Eddie D. Willis, B Leaving covered 400 yards in :19.784. Justine Klaiber rode the sorrel
gelding by Valiant Hero. B Leaving also earned a starting berth in the Oct. 22 Adequan Derby Challenge Championship-G3 at Horseshoe Indianapolis.
Raced in Oklahoma and New Mexico, B Leaving has won four of 12 starts, and the $35,119 winner’s share of the purse from his second career stakes win bumped his earnings to $174,161. His Remington Park spring campaign included a 1/2-length victory in the $68,000 Mr Master Bug Stakes-RG3 on
April 16, and a second-place finish in the $270,000 Heritage Place Derby-G2 on May 28.
B Leaving was bred in Oklahoma by the Homer A. Hill Estate, and he set the fastest qualifying time to this race with his clear 2-length victory on Aug. 13.
The gelding is out of Jess B Mighty, a multiple stakes winning homebred daughter of Champion Mr Jess Perry and a full sister to 2005 Dash For Cash Derby-G1 winner Mighty Invictus. B Leaving is a half brother to 2020 Evangeline Downs Derby winner Jess B One, and a full brother to 2018 Remington Park Futurity-RG2 runner-up Jess Let It B.
Ls Jacks Back (Corona Cartel-PJ Chick In Black) ran 2nd under Francisco Calderon for owner Jack Smith Farms & trainer John Stinebaugh. Tommie Eagle (One Famous Eagle-Runaway Renata) was 3rd under Ricky Ramirez for owners Randy & Sandy Coleman, and trainer Trey Wood. Followed by Cell Bounce (Corona Cartel-My Famous Lady), Donttemptthisnatural (Kiss My Hocks-Just Another Natural), Rustys Quick Chick (Mr Jess Perry-Rustys Quickid), The Dream (FDD Dynasty-Eyesa Precious), One Fabulous Seis (One Fabulous Eagle-Sissy Seis), B Me (Tres Seis-Glory Rider), and Toro O Nada (Jess Lips-Like A Fine Oak).
