ordon L. Timm’s Extermynator was a prompt
3-5 favorite in the 350-yard John Deere Indianapolis Juvenile Challenge Stakes at Horseshoe Indianapolis on Sept. 22.
Ridden by German Rodriguez for trainer Randy Smith and aided by a 15-mph tail wind, Extermynator defeated Time For A Hero by a neck in :17.588. The gelding recorded a 101 speed index while landing a berth in the $150,000 John Deere Juvenile Challenge Championship-G2 on Oct. 22.
Raced exclusively in Indiana, the gelding has won four of five outs, including the $145,200 Heartland Futurity - and he has banked $121,701.
Extermynator was bred in Texas by Bobby D. Cox, and he was purchased for $55,000 at last year’s Heritage Place Yearling Sale. The gelding is out
of Cartel Regards, and he is a half brother to 2017 Jaguar Rocket Futurity winner Apollitical Regard. Extermynator’s second dam, First Regards, won the 2002 Dash For Cash Derby-G2.
Jettin Jetta (EC Jet One-PYC Dollars) crossed the wire third but was moved up to second following the disqualification of Time For A Hero from second to sixth. Luz D. Martinez rode the homebred filly for owner Jovetta Meredith and trainer R. Allen Hybsha.
Hes Legendary (Hes Relentless-SR Fly Baby) was placed third for owner Cynthia Allen. Erik Esqueda rode the Oklahoma-bred gelding for trainer Ron Raper.
What Else Is New (Lota PYC-Ms Haulin Chic), The Apollitical Lady (Apollitical Jess-The Fiscal Sign), Time For A Hero (Apollitical Blood-Jess Valiant), Streakin To Thrill (Tres Seis-Thrill And Grace), and KVN Queen (KVN Corona-Reina
de Reinas) completed the official order finish. Finalists A Preachers Daughter (A Revenant-No Time To Separate) and One Dun Hero (One Valiant Hero-PYC Pick Your Pocket) were listed as trainer scratches.

sharp break from post 5 helped Bennett
Racing Stables’ One Coldhearted Diva score a wire-to-wire victory in the $27,430 Q-Racing Video Indianapolis Distaff Challenge at Horseshoe Indianapolison Sept. 22.
Prepped by Jessica Vazquez and ridden by Giovani Vazquez-Gomez, One Coldhearted Diva covered 400 yards in :19.983 while aided by a 14-mph tail wind, and her margin of victory was a neck over her rival. The homebred 4-year-old daughter of One Fabulous Eagle landed a berth in the $100,000 Q-Racing Video Distaff Challenge Championship-G1 on Oct. 22.
One Coldhearted Diva was bred in Indiana by Dianne Bennett, the longtime executive director of the Quarter Horse Racing Association of Indiana. The mare is out of winner Whata Chilled Cat. One Coldhearted Diva was coming off of a 7th-place finish in the Bob Woodward Memorial Classic on Sept. 3.
“Her name says it all,” said Jessi Vazquez of One Coldhearted Diva. “You never know what horse is going to show up. Sometimes she breaks well and then doesn’t finish well, and sometimes she doesn’t break and then finishes well. You just never know what to expect, but the right horse showed up today.”
One Coldhearted Diva has won three of 21 races, and the $15,634 winner’s share of the purse from her first stakes victory pushed her bankroll to $91,211.
Jess Gimme A Kiss (Kiss My Hocks-Perrys Dreamgirl) was 2nd for owner/trainer Mario Rodriguez Jr. Isidro Banuelos rode the 4-year-old filly. Whiting Ranch’s Dugan Chapel Baby (Hes Relentless-Pyc Pick Your Pocket) ran third under James Flores for trainer H. Allen Hybsha. Paradyce (Corona Cartel-Splendifferous), Count Down (Ivory James-Rare Encore), Jess Over Yonder (Apollitical Jess-Wyld Bleu Yonder), and Pathogenesis (Seperate Interest-Crooked Path) followed.
Gillespie County Fair Derby

hree-year-old filly Fabulous Rachel has only
made three lifetime starts, but the promising daughter of One Fabulous Eagle is now a stakes winner after winning the $99,150 Gillespie County Fair Derby on Aug. 28 in her stakes debut.
Ridden by Victor Urieta Jr., Fabulous Rachel broke near the back of the pack in the 350-yard fixture but quickly found her best stride and darted to the lead. Once she hit the front, the sorrel filly maintained a clear lead through the lane and won by 3/4-lengths at the finish, defeating Coronas Candy Man in a final time of :17.521. The winner’s final clocking earned a 101 speed index.

did not race at two. She made her career debut
a winning one at Remington Park in May and followed that with a runner-up effort in her trial on Aug. 14.
The $34,703 winner’s share of the Gillespie County Fair Derby purse increased her bankroll to $47,933. Trainer Juan Diaz Jr. saddled the winner and the runner-up.
Fabulous Rachel was bred in Oklahoma by
Juan Medina, and she is out of the Teller Cartel mare Teller Baja, who won six races from 10 starts, including the Remington Park Oklahoma Bred Futurity-RG2. The mare was also a third place runner in the All American Juvenile Invitational and a finalist in the Rainbow Derby-G1. Teller
Baja has produced four winners from five starters, including top earner Teller Ima Eagle, winner of the Speedhorse Futurity-G3 and Oklahoma Juvenile. Fabulous Rachel is her second stakes winner.
Runner-up Coronas Candy Man (Jess Good Candy-Follies And Corona), piloted by Jose Herbert, is owned by Florentino Leon. The two- time winner was bred in Iowa by Robert and Sandra Brown and was a $35,000 graduate of the 2020 Ruidoso Select Yearling Sale.
Multiple stakes-placed Mr De Capi (Capo De Capi-Redheads Run Hotter) finished third under Jose Martinez for owner Jesus Olvera and trainer Angel Sanchez.
Jess Delight (Apollitical Jess-Cartel Karma), Swags (Kiss My Hocks-Check The Account), MM The Brute (Corona Cartel-Especially Tres), Tucker Dynasty (FDD Dynasty-Jakes Painted Wagon), Regal Wagon Streak (PYC Paint Your Wagon- The Regal Streak) and Reimagine (Freighttrain B-Splendifferous) followed. Onthewingsofaneagle was scratched.
