 High seller Hip #187 Miss Hi Tide was consigned by Marty Powers, agent and purchased by Ranch El 48, LLC for $775,000.
 The 47th annual Heritage Place Winter Mixed Sale in Oklahoma City took place on Jan. 16-18. The American Quarter Horse Association announced that the 2024 Champions awards have been postponed indefinitely.
The sale closed with a significant increase in gross receipts of $18,181,100, which is a 22% increase over last year’s $14,952,400. The sale average of $26,935 was up considerably from the $22,553 the previous year. With 675 horses sold from the 811 offered, the $15,000 median was up compared to $13,500 in 2024.
“We had a tremendous sale thanks to the buyers, consignors, and all our Heritage Place staff. We look forward to seeing everyone at the races this year and wish much success to all our customers!” said Heritage Place General Manager Spence Kidney.
High seller Hip #187 Miss Hi Tide (Woodbridge-Ms Riptide) was consigned by Marty Powers, Agent and purchased by Rancho El 48, LLC for $775,000. The 2021 filly has won
or placed in 10 of her 11 starts, including a victory in the New Mexico State Fair Breeders Derby-RG3 and was runner-up in the All American Oaks-G1 and is a full sister to All American Futurity-G1 runner-up Mister Riptide, winner of the Zia Futurity-RG1 and Zia Derby-RG2.
Hip #740 One Sweet Sugar (One Sweet Jess-Sugarshaker B) was the second high seller at $560,000. Consigned by Spring Hill Farms, Agent, the filly was purchased by Rancho La Cobra. The 2021 filly has won or placed in 13 of her 16 starts, including victories in the Lee Berwick Futurity-RG1, Lassie Futurity-RG2, and Esplanade Stakes. She is a half-sister to Graded stakes placed San Lorenzo Hustle, winner of the Big Easy Futurity.
Dunn Ranch led all consignors with 83 head selling for $2,819,400. Rancho La Cobra,
not only purchased the second high seller, they also led all buyers, purchasing seven head for $1,057,000. Hes Relentless was the Leading Sire of Yearlings by average of two or more sold with two foals selling for an average of $56,000. With three in-foal mares selling for an average of $86,667, Flying Cowboy 123 was the Leading Covering Sire by average of two or more sold.
Second high seller Hip #740 One Sweet Sugar was consigned by Spring Hill Farms, agent and purchased by Rancho La Cobra for $560,000.
