PENALTIES
Foal Penalties due to late Broodmare Registration. Broodmares must be registered by September 1st of the breeding year.

$350.00 for registration after September 1, of the breeding year through August 31 of the following year.
$700.00 for registration after September 1, of the weanling year through August 31 of the following year.
$1,500.00 for registration after September 1, of the yearling year.
$1,500.00 for each foal conceived before stallion’s registration date.
If a stallion has been marked inactive, to reactive him, the stallion must comply with our EVA rules and pay a $200.00 reactivation fee. If a foal is conceived before the stallion is reactivated, there will be a penalty imposed against the offspring. The penalty will be the registration fee which coincides with the horse’s age, plus 1⁄2 of that fee, i.e., a weanling registration would be $60.00 plus $30.00 for a total of $90.00.
All penalties are in addition to the foals registration fees. Foals that have a penalty in place can NOT be registered with the NMHBA until the corresponding penalty has been paid.
A registered New Mexico Bred racehorse filly/colt does not automatically go into the broodmare/stallion registry. This is a separate registration you must complete.
