“I felt that if he broke the right way that he would do perfect,” said Nicasio in an interview with StallioneSearch. “Past the 200 yards I didn’t see anybody, and he was gone.”
Cyber Attack was winning his first stakes. However, he had finished second in this year’s Rainbow Futurity-G1 and Golden State Million Futurity-G1. His race record stands at 7-4-2-0.
The colt’s tale really began with another full brother, Powerful Favorite, a millionaire who also ran in the Champion of Champions, finishing seventh.
Rosenthal purchased Powerful Favorite for her husband, Bob, who died before he could see the gelding run. The $90,000 yearling purchase did so well that Rosenthal acquired Bomb Cyclone at the 2020 Ruidoso Select Sale for $215,000 and Cyber Attack for $400,000, the third-highest price at the 2021 Ruidoso Select Sale.
Not only did Powerful Favorite become a millionaire, but Bomb Cyclone won the 2021 Los Alamitos $2 Million Futurity. Cyber Attack then made it a repeat for Rosenthal, O’Dell, and Nicasio, not to mention breeder Dr. Steve Burns and that incredible breeding combination of sire Favorite Cartel and dam Remember Me Rose.
“I’m very happy tonight that Cyber Attack won,” Rosenthal said in an interview with StallioneSearch. “Back-to-back wins in this race, I just can’t believe this is happening to us.”
O’Dell expressed similar sentiments and credited Rosenthal. “It’s hard to even do it once,” the trainer said. “To back-to-back years, with full brothers on top of that, it’s unbelievable. I couldn’t do it without this lady right here. She steps up
