The Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown was designed to allow Paint and Appaloosa racing enthusiasts to display their racehorses. The series consists of the Speedhorse Graham
Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Remington Park, the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 at Fair Meadows and the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1 at Will Rogers Downs. The ultimate goal of the series each year is to see if one horse can win all three races.
of Signs Of Livewire to an end. This opened the series up to another horse to win the overall high point award as all horses eligible to win this title had to enter the trials of all three races.
The 2022 Speedhorse Triple Crown High Point Champion is PFR Quickwire (CRM Livewire-Quick Caydee, Country Quick Dash). The 2020 gelding did
it by finishing second to Signs Of Livewire in the Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 in
May. He followed that race up with a fifth while running in congestion all the way in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 in July, again won by Signs of Livewire. When
the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1 came about, he finished third with
a late run to the wire with
this race won by Zbars
Livewire FS.
The backstory of PFR Quickwire is a familiar one in racing with the common practice
of people forming
partnerships with trainers and/or their families. PFR Quickwire is a brown tobiano gelding sired by CRM Livewire and his dam is Quick Caydee by Country Quick Dash. He was bred by Wendy Keener and is owned by Painted Faith Racing, a partnership of Wendy Keener and Steve and Lorie Wright. He is trained by Dee Keener.
PFR Quickwire started his race career with a 1/2-length victory in the trials
to the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 where he came back in the Oklahoma Paint & Appaloosa Juvenile
When the 2022 Speedhorse Graham Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 and
the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Futurity-G1 came about with Signs Of Livewire winning the first two legs of the Triple Crown, it appeared that if he just ran in the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Championship Futurity-G1, he would
Trainer Dee Keener, Wendy Keener and Steve Wright of Painted Faith Racing.
be the series high point horse. If he ran and won the final leg of the series, he would become the Speedhorse Paint & Appaloosa Triple Crown Champion – just the second since Painted Turnpike won in 2015. But, as it often happens, fate steps in and an injury brought the race career
