“Dr. Blodgett and I have been partners and close friends for over 20 years. We spent a lot
of time together going to sales, horse races, making breeding decisions, and doing deals, as well as when we served on the AQHA Executive Committee and American Horse Council. I don’t know a finer man, better partner, or a more knowledgeable horseman and veterinarian. The industry has lost a tremendous leader and icon, and we have all lost a great friend.”
- Johnny Trotter
“Dr. Glenn Blodgett was one of the most amazing men I have ever known. He was an unequaled leader in the horse industry. His integrity was beyond reproach. He was as loyal an employee, employer, and friend as I have ever known. The hole he leaves in our industry and in our lives will never be filled.”
- Jim Heird
“I knew Glenn before he went to the Four Sixes. Few, if any, did more for the American Quarter Horses. He was a friend to many.”

“Glenn Blodgett had the respect of the entire Quarter Horse industry for the 50 years I knew him, his stewardship of the 6666’s Ranch for the past 40 years was, without question, an example for all in superior ranch management. He was innovative and adaptive but always respectful of the tradition and
and numerous other livestock associations. Glenn was always the “go to guy” to have on a committee when significant decisions were being contemplated because his integrity was never in question. He always wanted what was best for whatever industry he was serving. Glenn was a good man, a good horseman and a good friend. He will be sorely missed by all that knew him.”
“Dr. Blodgett was an icon, and a person I truly respected. While I trained a few horses for the ranch 20 years ago, my greatest pleasure has been in my current role at AQHA and serving with him on the Racing Medication and Testing Consortium’s Board of Directors. While travelling twice a year to those meetings, I treasured the opportunity to soak up his insight and to glean feedback on my endeavors for AQHA. His expertise was unparalleled, and he was generous in affording me his thoughts on any given matter. In short, he was a good man – as good as they come. AQHA is blessed for having had his leadership, and I am blessed for it too.”
- JanetVanBebber
“I don’t believe any person in the colorful history of AQHA has brought as many different disciplines together as did Dr. Blodgett. He was as knowledgeable about cutting, cow or ranch horses as he was racing horses. That mixture is what created magic at the 6666 Ranch,
from the number of mares bred annually to the results of the Return To The Remuda Sale. We won’t ever see another Dr. Blodgett in our lifetimes.”
- Jim Ware
Many men have achieved great accomplishments, but are short on character. Character: Mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. Dr. Blodgett’s success and accomplishments were great in the American Quarter Horse world. However, his greatest success
and accomplishment was his excellent character, as spoken of by those who knew him well.
“Dr. Blodgett was a man of few words so when he spoke, you listened. He always looked out for the best interest of the horse. I will never forget his special smile when you were talking to him.”

Our industry has lost an icon. Dr. Blodgett was known to be a man of few words,
but those words were much sought after. His opinion carried a lot of weight in the horse industry. He was the most honorable man I knew. His life epitomized honesty, integrity, and respect. We were honored to have him as our friend.
