In her second year of coaching at Ponderosa High School and her XX year of coaching the sport, Ponderosa Varsity Head Coach Deb Barnes (pictured center) leads the program with strength and compassion. “My coaching philosophy is to develop an athlete with sportsmanship, competitiveness, confidence, respect for teammates and passion for the sport of volleyball,” said Barnes. “I want to provide an opportunity for growth – both on and off the
court so that these young ladies will take with them the life lessons they learn throughout the season.”
Barnes is a resident of Parker where she lives with her son and works full-time as a care facility administrator. She and Varsity Assistant Coach Taylor have been coaching together for XX years.
Coach Taylor got married last year and lives with
her husband in XXXXXXXXXXXXX. She played
volleybal in college for XXXXXXXXX and is now
a XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. Her goal for the

Although ever with their eyes on the prize, Coaches Taylor and Barnes know how to have fun, and they understand there is far more to the game of vlleyball than the score.
