Each year, Timber Trail Elementary (TTE) has a fundraising event, and this year, students and teachers participated in a move-a-thon in late September. Students spent time outside rotating through a series of stations, including jump ropes, step ups, tire rolling, as well as the much anticipated obstacle course!
The move-a-thon was organized by the Timber Trail Elementary Alliance (TTEA) and more than $56,000 was raised. Proceeds will go toward school and class needs, including ukuleles for the music room.
Buffalo Ridge Elementary’s Green Team was one of only ve groups selected as nalists to receive a ?????? grant. The team presented on Friday, September 29, by means of a tele/video conference to ?????? .
The Green Team consists of students from all grade levels and is led by school librarian Jody Robinson and learning specialist Jennifer Romero. The purpose of the
team is focusing on environmental issues
such as recycling, pollution, and energy conservation.
In addition to getting one step closer to being awarded grant money, the team was awarded a return on the school’s utilities for being one of the top school teams to save money on utilities last year. While the team only focused on utility usage
for a few months, it had a large bene cial impact.
