                 STEEPED IN HISTORY DATING BACK TO THE 18TH CENTURY
In fact, the site that it occupies originally held a workhouse, that was built in 1843 and designed by architects George Gilbert Scott and William Bonython Moffatt. The property was of profound use during both wars; as a military base during the First World War, and as a home for families
during the Second World War when it was owned by the Searl family. Then, in the mid- twentieth century, the workhouse building was demolished and a grand, art-deco development was constructed in its place that was originally home to pharmaceutical company, Johnson &
