Introductions
Dear Mama,
Thank you for all you have done for me and the family. Good times and bad, you did what you thought was best. Had you done anything different, we would not have all the moments, children, grandchildren we have today. All this was apart of God’s plan!
In this booklet you will find things from your information before your birth, as you grew into yourself and your present. I hope you find it interesting, reflective and something to treasure.
This book presents the lives of our paternal and maternal ancestors of Albert Cook aka Adam Booker and Odessa Windmon Cook. Also included is a small history of Arthur Vincent an- cestors, as you all know Arthur is mom’s second husband which she has no children with but nevertheless his family is our family. You will find U.S. Census records, newspaper clippings, obitu- aries and photos to support my findings. I wish I had the facts about the ancestor born 100’s of years ago but since black people in the 1800’s were considered property own by others; some slave owners kept records of their slaves but some did not and I have not been able to track down who owned our ancestors.
