 Named to the Hall of Honor by the National Institute of Health in 2003, Dr. Delbert
 A. Fisher has achieved a reputation of excellence for his services as an educator and health care professional
he served as editor-in- chief of the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism from 1978
to 1983 and Pediatric Research from 1984 to 1989, followed by a stint as editor-in-chief of Pediatrics Research Journal. With more than 500 scientific papers, book chapters, and reviews, and eleven books to his name, Dr. Fisher has become quite a prolific writer. Dr Fisher says he shares his insights and expertise to bring about collaboration and research innovation to the field of pediatric endocrinology.
A diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics and the
sub board of pediatric endocrinology, Dr. Fisher earned a BA from the University of California Berkley and an MD
from the University of California, San Francisco.
He completed an
internship and residency
in pediatrics at the University of California Medical Center, followed
by a second residency in pediatric endocrinology at the University of Oregon Hospital. Dr. Fisher is a member of the American College of Endocrinology, the American Association of Clinical Chemistry, and the Association of American Physicians.

At the start of his career
in 1953, he worked across the country as a professor of pediatrics. First at UCLA Medical School, then
chief of pediatrics and endocrinology at Harbor- UCLA Medical Center,
and finally professor of pediatrics at the medical school of the University
of Arkansas. Dr. Fisher
also served in research and development roles, such as director of the Walter Martin Research Center, senior scientist of research and education for Harbor-UCLA, president and chief science officer
of Nichols Institute and vice president of science and innovation for Quest Diagnostics. Today, he serves in dual roles as an Academic Associate for Quest Diagnostics and a consultant.
Dr. Fisher also contributes to his professional community as a writer and editor of various books, articles, and publications. He was the co-editor of Pediatric Thyroidology,
