The 20th annual Awards for Excellence was an industry success!
The 2018 Master Painters Association annual Awards for Excellence was held on Saturday 3rd of November at the luxurious 5 star Sheraton on the Park, Sydney.
This year, we saw a staggering 200 entries across many categories! The calibre of the entries was very high and showcased a wide variety of projects and contract values from as little as $3,000 to over $2.5 million.
On the night, we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks which were sponsored by
Paintback, followed by a three-course dinner. Therese Lauriola, CEO of the Master Painters Association NSW, welcomed guests and thanked sponsors, the Board and staff, and all those involved in making the Awards for Excellence possible.
Wattyl was again the major sponsor
of the awards along with our
industry partners Oldfields, Sikkens, Hammerite, Mirka, Dynamic, Botany Access, CBUS, MGA Insurance Actevate, Purdy and Paintback. Without such loyal industry supporters, nights like this would not be possible.
With such a high standard of entries, it’s a difficult process for the judges to pick a winner. The larger number of entries from NSW and ACT meant that we needed to engage many more judges to get through the judging process. Thanks are due to the judges (listed on page 12).
The Master Painters Association congratulates all the winners, finalists and highly commended achievers
on their
professionalism
and dedication
to our industry.
While the major
cup winners
of this year's
competition
should be
especially
proud of their
achievements,
all entrants are a real credit to our industry.
It is clear from the high standard of entries, that hard work, dedication and expertise is a common feature across all projects, large or small. It is this high level of expertise and professionalism that adds to the prestige of our annual Awards and makes them the leading event of the painting and decorating industry.
