Both of these units feature some fresh and never seen be- fore features. These features include a Plug-and-Play auto setup that will run your pit at 250 degrees and it needs no app or Wi-Fi to utilize. The handiest feature we found was the patent-pending 5-in-1 Versatile Guru Mount. This new mount has a flat back surface for permeant mounting, a magnet for mobile or temporary mounting, and a swivel adjustment to see your controller regardless of where you have it mounted. Both units will also hook up to both the Pit Viper and Pit Bull fans that are also made by BBQ Guru. Both units also feature the ability to track and graph your cook, connect to virtually any barbecue grill or pit, and have intelligent open lid detection as well.
DynaQ
Our testing of the new DynaQ unit was a ton of fun. Being able to adjust our pit temperature and moni- tor our food from our lounge chair also made it relaxing.
The new Guru Status Light
Ring let us know what was
happening inside our pit
with just a quick glance at
the controller. Once we saw
the light flashing or color
change, we instantly knew if we needed to look closer at the app or sit back and relax. The outer ring will change colors based on what your pit's temperature is doing. The blue light around the controller's ring means it is heating up, or your fuel source needs to be replenished. When the outer light ring turns red and pulses on the sides, this means that the DynaQ is running its variable flow fan to precisely maintain your cooking temperature. When the entire outer light ring pulses red, this serves as a visual alarm, so you'll know something has occurred and that it needs your attention.
You can also set up notifications to alert you on your
smartphone of these same changes. The software that con- trols these units are super easy to understand and adjust as well. You can find apps that work on both IOS and Android systems. The DynaQ uses Bluetooth technology to allow adjustments from your personal device. Our tests got effec- tive responses close to 200 feet without away without any obstructions between you and the cooker.
UltraQ
BBQ Guru has upped the bar in the pit controller world with their latest and greatest unit called UltraQ.
This unit has the new Guru
Status Light Ring technol-
ogy as well but also has the
Display Scanning Feature
that will display your pit
temperature and three ad-
ditional probe tempera-
tures as well. With Display
Scanning turned on, the "Q-
TailTM" light on the Status
Light Ring will illuminate
in one of 4 colors, one at a
time, to show you the tem-
perature of each digital temperature probes. You can quickly see the temperature displayed on the LED screen and the color of the probe, so you can easily track your en- tire grill.
The UltraQ unit also has the ability to use both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth technology to control your pit anywhere you have the app. These features will allow you to keep an eye on your food from literally anywhere there is a Wi-Fi con- nection.
These are just a few of our favorite features from these pit controllers, but without question, these units will indeed be game-changers for a while to come. You can find more details and features about these fantastic new units at their website https://bbqguru.com or find them on most social media pages.

Ignite Firestarter Packets
We first heard about the Ignite Firestarter packets while making a stop on our 30th Anniversary Tour in Chat- tanooga, TN back in February. We met Scott Burgess and J.R. Fitch, who invented this new product and introduced it to us. From their beginning, they set out to develop a fire starter that would make igniting a fire easier. Their Ignite
Firestarter packets are a safe, flammable solid used any- where you would normally have a fire. While in Tennessee, we witnessed this product start a small fire inside a back- yard fire ring with only wood and no kindling.
