Most people have their nick- names given to them. There are some who actually earn their nicknames. Mike Mills not only earned his alias The Legend, he lived it.
As a publisher I very seldom get stingy with room inside this
magazine as I try to keep my monthly column short and sweet while giving the majority of space to our faithful contrib- utors. This month will indeed be a bit different as I pay trib-
ute to my BBQ Super Hero, Mike Mills.
Mike Mills was born in 1941 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri and was the fourth of five children. During his high school days, he was a member of the 1958 Murphysboro Township High School football team that is now in the Hall of Fame. Even then Mike knew how to win. In 2014 Mike was named a Distinguished Alumni of that school.
