Our Ubon’s team met Mike Mills when we first began competing on the BBQ circuit in the late 80’s. From the start he was a mentor to our team. Over the years he included us as a part of his bbq family and we watched as he brought BBQ first to the USA then to the world at large. The Legend indeed. We are eternally grateful for his lessons and kinship.

Mike’s love for barbecue oozed out of him with a smokey aroma you knew immediately he was "the real deal." Mike always welcomed you with a huge smile that made you feel like family. There’s no doubt about the huge impact Mike contributed to our World of Barbe- cue. I know today he’s making tasty barbecue for the Good Lord—RIP my friend—
“Famous Dave"
Mike Mills was a friend that I respected a great deal. In addition to being a legend in the BBQ world, Mike had a calm about him and a pres- ence that I greatly appreciated. Never one to brag about his success, he was confident with- out being cocky. Mike always made you feel like the most important guy in the room. Being a great listener, he gave sound advice when he saw fit without ever making you feel like you were not smart enough to figure it out on your own.
