Then the reason almost 2000 people gathered in Ft. Worth, the Steak Cookoff World Championships. At the River Ranch party, Ken Phillips told us the host venue said there has never been so many people there. Solidifying this event as one legendary contest to attend every year. This year, the legend of Scott Nardi was introduced to the world. Second to Tim Brown in points by less than a point, Scott let the world know he is ready for legend status. Most consecutive SCA wins this season and tied with Tim in most win for the season. WOW! Congratulations Scott!
This year is going to be amazing and next year’s champi- onship is going to be smokin’.
Event Spotlight
Growing up, for many of us, we learned to cook from our mothers and how to grill from our dad’s. We talk about those backyard cookouts with fond memo- ries as we tell those stories to our kids. This is why the SCA events with a Kid’s cook is so important for us to support. One such event is Smokin’ on the Rez Steak Championship in Ridgeland, MS April 16th. If you are looking for a con- test where you and your kids can cook, then this is the one. The kids get to cook ribeyes just like we do and it is only $25 to register them. What are you waiting on? Put this one on your April schedule and we’ll see you there. If you have any questions contact promoter, Bobby
Cleveland.

there was the branding. Fully Promoted

porting us is by supporting them. If you need promotional materials, then Fully Promoted is your first stop for qual- ity.
Wampler’s Ancillary Points Chase
The ancillary continues to heat up as cooks continue to shuffle every week. Catherine Noble tops the leader board but Craig Carter isn’t letting her get to far out front as he continues to the top. Christy Jones, Rod Hadacek and Randy McKnight are having a blast cooking it our for third, as there are only two points separating the three. Don’t count out reigning points champ, Tona Pendray, who is looking for a repeat of last year. However, she is tied with Jamie Thomas, while Chad Whittington, Steve Noble and Daryl Walker are within four points of the
champ. From top to bottom, 29 points separate the Top 10 and this doesn’t even take into account those just outside. This year’s chase is heating up and will be fun to watch.
ACE Hardware Steak Points Chase
If you notice the Top 10 leader board, there are more than ten on the list. This is because the chase is so hot and close, we have to list 13 outstanding cooks. Marty Plute continues to lead with former champ, Sandy Brown two points be-
hind as she seeks to be the first repeat champ. But Scott Nardi, reigning cookoff champ, Sunny Moody, world food steak champ, and Tim Brown, reigning points champ (and Sandy’s husband) all look to add another world championship to their resumes. Steve Noble, Rusty Hadacek, John Pendray and Rod Hadacek are all within striking distance to overtake first
place. In a 4-way tie for 10th place, Jim Williams, Craig Carter, Larry Alford and Jeff Moody are only 31 points out from the top spot and it is still way early in the season. Who will be crowned champ next year? It’s still anyone’s to win.
