Thanksgiving 2019 has come upon us in a hurry as this year has flown by. I'm looking for- ward to the upcoming holiday season and a few down days with family and some time to play on the pit and grill. Most weeks I am at the grill or pit at least three or four times as I am continually testing different products for product reviews. It's very seldom we get to cook our recipes, but we always use Thanksgiving for that exact op- portunity.
I'm thankful to try all of these different creations that are shared by others with the barbecue world. The ability to call these cre- ators part of my BBQ family is beyond describable. I am also thankful for every reader, supporter, advertiser, follower, and stalker that checks out Barbecue News Magazine! Without you, we could not do the thing we love most, and that is working for the barbecue world.
All thanks goes to God, who alone has given me the ability and opportunities to do the things we do. Without my faith in Him, I would indeed be in a much different place and couldn't imagine where I would be.
The upcoming 2020 Ben Que'n National Tour will be a big chal- lenge to complete. Regardless of how tough this job will be to complete, you can believe that I am very thankful for the oppor- tunities this tour will bring. The chance to drive around our great country while stopping to give a big thank you to most of the people who responsible for our 30 years of existence is priceless!
Last, but certainly not least, I am thankful for those who are no longer with us in this life. "Papa" Joe Phelps, "Doc" Donald Gillis, and countless others, who laid the foundation for my cur- rent barbecue journey, will never be forgotten. Their past efforts and dedication to the barbecue world have made it possible for the blessed life I am currently living in today.
