2020 Rubs
 of Honor
Top 10
The purpose of Barbecue News Magazine’s annual Rubs of Honor event is very simple: find the best seasoning or rub for chicken, pork, beef and seafood. Each of the top 10 finishers in each category will be presented a cer- tificate and the winner in each category is presented with a National Championship trophy. Each category winner will also receive their choice of a $750 prepaid advertising contract with the Barbecue News Magazine or a bottling contract from Croix Valley Foods good for a 100 pound batch of their winning rub bottled for re- sale.
The 2020 event had yet again another record-breaking number of entries with a total of 368 rubs being en- tered into the competition. The beef category consisted of 95 entries and each entry was judged using Hassell Cattle Company sirloin Wagyu steak. The chicken category used skinless and boneless thighs and had 100 dif- ferent entries. The pork category, which had 117 total entries was the largest category and used pork steaks for their samples. The seafood category had 56 entries and used shrimp as their protein for judging. All entries were cooked on a RECTEQ Bull grill and used Knotty Wood Almond Pellets as our grilling fuel.
The 2020 Rubs of Honor Competition was held over a four day period. The results below show only the top 10 finishers in each category but each participates will see the complete list of the finishing order for each cate- gory.
