Australian BBQ Team makes appearance at SoCal BBQ Cook Off
Smokin’ Steve’s BBQ-Australia compete at the Brew n' Que Festival in Norco, CA
March 26, 2022 [NORCO, CA USA] Smokin’ Steve’s BBQ, Aus- tralia’s barbeque Team of the Year, join a field of over 50 barbeque teams competing for top honors at the Horse Town Brew n' Que Festival, June 4, 2022 in Norco. In a rare United State showing, the team, will also answer questions, sign autographs and offer their unique Aussie insights into the world of barbeque. The event is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS), the world’s largest organization dedicated to barbeque.
The Australian team comes to Norco on the heels of winning Team of the Year honors for two con- secutive years. Captain and Head pitmaster, Steve Alan sees the Horse Town Brew n’ Que Festival as an opportunity to shoulder against
top teams while developing new barbeque friends and technique. Alan notes, “We are looking forward to this meet. This is a great place to compete against some of the best teams in the world and show our skills.”
The festival highlights a variety of food, live enter-
tainment and craft beer and takes a backdoor peak
into the world of competition barbeque. Over 50 barbe-
cue teams from California, Nevada and Arizona will compete for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes and most importantly, bragging rights. Top barbeque smoker Lady of Q team, Sylvia Curry, who is featured on the Netflix series the American Bar- beque Showdown, will also compete. In additional to Curry, BBQ legend and TV personality, Junior Urias and his Up In Smoke team from Texas add more contest fuel to a weekend dedicated to
one of America’s favorite pastimes. Both beer and barbeque sam- ples are available for purchase and attendees may cast a vote for their favorite craft beer or barbecue.
“We are very excited to welcome Smokin’ Steve’s BBQ to the their first KCBS competition in California and the United States," notes Debbie Yopp, the festival organizer. “They bring a lot of energy to the event and a competitive spirit that make barbeque cook-offs

Big Dane, most known for his appearances on the television series West Coast Customs, will showcase his pitmaster skills and will also fea- ture West Coast Customs automobiles. Kids Que, a barbeque competition for youth under 15 years, a petting zoo, arts and crafts are
other featured activities.
A backdrop of live music and entertainment fea- tures Blues stylist, The Blue Henrys and country
artists, South of Santa Fe. Crowd favorites, the 5 Tempt- ing Men perform a tribute to Motown, adding more to the festival flavor.
