ing Steaks for Sheepdogs. Joe Wilson, many know him as the emcee of the SCA World Championship Award Cere- monies, has been hosting this event for years. What makes this steak event a little different is the ancillary of cooking squirrel, which is something we do not see every weekend. If you need more information, contact Joe and we will see you in Bentonville.
Hassell Cattle Company Ancillary Points Chase
This year’s points chase continues to just enthrall all who are watching. Weather you’re in the Top 10, close to the Top 10 or just enjoy cooking, you must be on the edge of your seat watching this race to the championship. Tona Pendray is no stranger to the top spot nor the work it takes to stay here. You can place all your money on betting that Will Collier and Kyle Matuszewski are going to make her work hard to stay there as well as they sit in 2nd and 3rd spot. It’s an honor to be in the top 10 and the rest of the competitors know it. This is why Lori Davis and Rylee Wright keep moving forward to ensure they stay in the top 5. But if the rest of the field has a say, and they do by the way everyone has been cooking, these two need to watch out for the rest. Bobby Oliver, Brandon Crain, Craig Carter, Brian Coleman and Whitney Hampson are all with-in strik-
ing distance of a Top 5 finish. Stay tuned folks, this is really getting good.
Ace Hardware Points Chase
Reigning points champion, Sandy Brown, continues her march to repeating as points champ. This will make her the first ever to repeat. But as they say, it isn’t over until the fat lady sings and if Rusty Hadacek has any say, she won’t be singing for a while. However, just look at the points and how close they are. Jessica Barnes, Tim Brown, Layne Holmes, Ginnie Holmes and Terry Roan can all switch places with the top two in an instant. Marc Seimers, who spent a lot of time in the top spot, John Lindsey and Scott Nardi may be the most vulnerable as they battle to over- take the top spot, they must also fight to make sure they stay in the top 10. This year’s points chase is so excited as we enter the fall, it is still anyone’s championship to win. Congratulations are in order for reigning points Champion, Sandy Brown, who scored a perfect score in Ottumwa, IA on July 24th. Becoming only the second person to do so and the first woman to achieve this goal. Once again proving why this SCA season is the year of the woman. Way to go Sandy!
