Candidates for 2nd Vice President
WILLIAM R. ANDERSON, OFC
Members of the Nominations and Elections Committee,
I respectfully request to be considered for the position of 2nd Vice President of the OFCA. This opportunity would add to my history of giving back to our profession at the national, state and the local level. My core values offer the character and temperament necessary to help strengthen the OFCA and lead from the front. My platform is to be an advocate for safety, health and quality of life matters for OFCA members and all Ohioans.
I’m a 21-year member of the fire service with the last 16 in Euclid where I serve as Assistant Chief. I believe authentic leadership offers the best chance to improve the future of our profession and the quality of life for others. This con- viction has led me to accept the responsibility to chair the City of Euclid’s Risk Management Committee. I also serve as a member of OFCA’s Safety, Health, and Wellness Committee and I volunteer with FEMA as a peer reviewer for the AFG and SAFER grant programs.
My formal education consists of an associate’s degree and bachelor’s degree. I/m currently earning a Master’s of Public Administration and expect to gradu- ate in July 2018.
Beyond my formal education, I’ve completed Fire Officer I,II, and III and Blue Card Command training. I hold numerous EMS certifications as well as certification as a State of Ohio Fire Instructor. I’m a Foundation Fellow and a credentialed Ohio Fire Chief (OFC) officer. Moreover, I will complete the OFE program in June 2017.
In closing, you can be certain I will work earnestly to promote the mission and values of the OFCA while serving with honor and integrity. I look forward to your approval to proceed.
Sincerely,
William R. Anderson, OFC Member No. 4846
