Page 82 - The Ancestry of Francis Bryan (1770-1863)

On the DNAPainter chromosome map I have categorized all of my aunt's maternal matches into just one group: Maternal, in the rose color. I can then focus more easily on the paternal side.
Currently the paternal side is grouped into somewhat generic clusters. My goal is to eventually produce more specific categories under the Bryan/Woodruff and Paternal matches.
I do hope that some day someone, myself, or another researcher, will be able to break down the next brick wall. We will use the tools currently available to us and new tools that will be developed, probably in the near future. DNA genealogy is such a new science.
In an ideal genealogy research world all of the following would be true:
Ancestry.com would provide chromosome information! Currently Ancestry states that it would be a violation of privacy to release that information. This is interesting since there are at least 3 other major testing sites that DO provide that information. Seems that the cat is already out of the bag!
All of the major testing sites would have the following:
All available documentation of any kind and of any use to any genealogist would be easily available on line. It is remarkable how much is currently available compared to even 10 years ago.
All site members would donate DNA samples.
DNA matching would become more accurate at very small matches, so that we could go further back in time with greater confidence.
All site members would have trees that are as complete as possible and they would all be well researched.
All of the sites would have trees that would be easy to build and to search. FTDNA, are you listening?
AND....Every person that I contact on any of the sites would immediately contact me back and would, of course, be more than willing to help with my research as much as possible (always free of cost). And I would reciprocate!
Until then I will plod ahead in the current imperfect state of affairs. I still find it fascinating and fun!
