CLASICALLY FABULOUS CHANEL
THE UPCOMING Designer Fashion and Handbag auction at Chiswick Auc- tions has its fair share of eclectic and unusual fashion that would have really pushed the boundaries of style when they were first created.
There’s a selection of sought-after designers, but if you love Chanel, then you’re in for a real treat! There’s an oversized gilt metal Chanel cuff (Lot 31) which would complete any look and two Chanel outfits, of similar jersey design in red and black respectively. Despite the lack of shoulder pads these outfits epitomise the power-dressing ideal synonymous with the 1980s. (Lots 46 & 47) Then there’s a bright pink rubber ‘jelly’ bag (Lot 26), demonstrating the lighter side of Chanel, emblazoned with the fashion house’s name and perfect for trips to the beach (although you might need a larger bag if you’re bringing your towel!).
