WELCOME TO EUROPE’S LARGEST AND OLDEST VINTAGE DESIGN MARKET
OVER THE WEEKEND of the 23rd and 24th of April, one hundred exhibitors, professionals and dedicated amateurs, hailing from the UK, Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy will be poised ready to unpack their furniture and design objects from the 50s, 60s, 70s and early 80s, in the convivial atmosphere of a busy flea market.
Founded in 2002, the Brussels Design Market quickly became the largest vintage market in Europe to specialise in 20th Century design. The magnificent, historic setting of Maritime Station of Tour & Taxis is the backdrop for the Brussels Design Market, and this year sees the celebration of its 21st edition – making it one of the longest standing design events in the capital, attracting over 7,000 visitors over the two days.
The April edition will be extra special because Art Brussels, the most important contemporary art fair in Belgium, will also take place at Tour & Taxis on the same weekend.
Serious dealers and designers naturally get
there first to track down the rarest design objects, but exhibitors also bring a more affordable, and no less beautiful, range of pieces from the likes of Eames and Panton, Bertoia and Knoll.
With a great selection of European dealers, you can expect the range of goods to match, so you’ll discover a treasure trove of Scandinavian, Belgian, Dutch, French, Italian and American finds, alongside ceramics and glassware, collectors pieces and accessories in plastic, metal, wood and Bakelite.ve
