Self-Retracting Lifelines
The safest method for a worker to be protected from a fall is by using a self retracting lifeline along with a full-body harness.
A spring tensioned cable/web lanyard retracts back into the block as the worker moves toward the unit and pulls out as the worker moves away. If the worker should fall, the sudden jerk
in the lanyard activates the braking mechanisms and the worker is brought to a stop within approximately 1 1/2 feet. Several models of self retracting lifelines are available, and all meet or exceed ANSI and OSHA requirements.
Diablo 6 ft. Self- Retracting Lifeline
The new Diablo Self-Retracting lifeline offers superior protection, and its design makes it extremely lightweight and durable. The Diablo Single SRL includes a carabiner and the Diablo Double SRL Kit includes a carabiner and connector bracket. When used in combination with proper PPE (i.e., harness and anchor), the Diablo SRL has a capacity range up to 420 lbs.
