Let's represent familiar contexts with double number lines.
In this activity, we will work with a partner to create double number lines for the tuna casserole recipe.
First, we will create double number lines for di erent batches. Next, we will use our number lines to answer questions.
Finally, we will share our diagrams and responses with the class.

In this activity, students revisit familiar contexts they represented with discrete diagrams in previous lessons.
Here, they see how double number line diagrams are helpful for answering more questions about these situations.
Monitor for students who use a discrete diagram and for students who use a double number line diagram.
Use this monitoring sheet to anticipate and track the approaches students use and to select which students you will call on to share their strategy during the activity synthesis.
