DIRECTV Equipment & Functionality Genie HDDVR (HR 44)
• Five tuner DVR capable of recording up to 5 programs simultaneously
• Powers its self and up to 3 Genie Minis simultaneously = 4 Live streams at once. If the
customer has a 5th or 6th room that they would like to watch simultaneously then they need to have an HD Receiver and/or an HDDVR if they would like to be able to pause and rewind live tv
• Two of the tuners are always dedicated to the Genie to allow for the use of picture and picture
• Genie minis are dependent on the Genie and have the same functionalities of the Genie with the exception of Picture and Picture.
• An Internet connected Genie can utilize On-Demand, DIRECTV Cinema, DTV Apps, Pandora, and Media Share
• 1 TB Hard drive provides 200 hours of HD record time OR 800 hours SD
• After market external hard drives that connect through an ESATA port can be added to
expand space.
• 4K content can only be viewed from a 4K Genie Mini or 4K RVU, the Genie by itself can
not view 4K.
Genie Mini – Client (C41)
• Genie minis are dependent on the Genie and have the same functionalities of the Genie with the exception of Picture and Picture.
Wireless Genie Mini (C41W)
• Same functionality as the Genie Mini
• Connects wirelessly to the Genie through a Wireless Video Bridge ($99@POS) 4K Genie Mini (C61K)
• Same functionality as the Genie Mini
• Allows for 4K content to be viewed on a 4K UHDTV that supports HDMI 2.0 and 60
frames per second
HD Receiver
• Allows viewing of HD
• If connected to a Genie Whole Home DVR system it is capable of playing back
recordings (Does not record and can not rewind live tv)
• If cx wants NO recording capability and only has 1 TV they can get 1 HD receiver free. If
they have more than 1 TV and do not want recording capability then it is more cost effective to give the a Genie Lite plus genie minis (see Genie Lite).
Genie Lite (H44)
• Same live viewing functionality as the Genie
• DOES NOT have recording capability, on demand, or 4K due to the fact that there is no
built in hard drive for storing content.
