Globally, a lot of research has been carried out with regard to the plant growth potential, disease resistance, and its preventive approach. On the same path, pathologists are observing new resistant pathogens leading to devastation in plant health, yield, and effective economic parameters. In the lane of plant disease protection, farmers use a various range of chemical pesticides, fungicides, without knowing their constraints and side effects. Usually, farmers will not follow the prescribed concentrations of chemical pesticides or fungicides; instead, they will apply them to the maximum extent to the field believing they will get more yield. As we observed, in our village, one of the farmers’ families was good enough and carried out their work normally. Due to labor issues, the farmer couldn’t carry out his work properly, so he alone
carried out his farming activities
such as plowing, roughing, and
chemical fungicide applications
all by himself. To get a good
yield without any constraint,
it was indeed necessary to
apply chemical fertilizers and
fungicides regularly, which he
did. After a few seasons of his
work, he got good yield and
stability, and along with that,
he was also diagnosed with a
health issue, that is, cancer.
After he was diagnosed with
cancer, a physician examined
him for the reason of his
disease. Earlier, he neither had
any health problems nor any
unhealthy habits. Finally, they
predicted that applying too much chemical fungicides all by himself might be the reason; if an adequate number of laborers were there,
the influence of these chemical fungicides would be carved up. But here, he had applied these chemicals all by himself and that too for so many seasons. Therefore, the adverse effect of these chemicals made him suffer from this disease. Not only this, there are also many examples that illustrate the adverse effects of fungicides such as endosulfan and DDT. Eventually, these chemical fungicides will lead to the trail of the total imbalance in natural ecosystem, human health, and economic status. Without a healthy agriculture, what will be the global sustainability? It’s better to find solutions by following the path of hidden Trojan secrets in nature.
Now, it’s time to convey the concept of nanotechnology in the farming sector to maintain good health and economic status of the society and to minimize the use of hazardous chemicals for the short-term benefits. Nanotechnology is one of the fascinating fields, which shows
that even a very minute nanometer-size particle acts as a curative agent by initiating a defensive battle against the pathogens. It is very interesting to investigate theoretically and practicallywhat makes the materials get reduced to small nanometer size and perform as a protective agent. As we all know, the stratagem “Theory guides and Practical decides.” However, the exact interaction between the molecules and biomaterials in the formation of nanoparticles is not clear.
