multiple resources requires an extensive BEMS. It must also be emphasized that since solar is a highly intermittent and variable resource, BEMS development demands high processing and computational
burden.
Accordingly, BEMS
has been developed as a
stochastic programming
model, which optimizes the
parallel operation and dispatch
of the multiple resources.
Since, multiple energies
(electrical and thermal) are
now flowing in the household,
suitable coordination is
required in the BEMS since
thermal and electrical loads
are independent, but the
generation of the respective
powers are coupled. This has been achieved by coordinating the stochastic framework in two different timescales. Thus, thermal energy flow decisions are taken in the longer timescale which is typically one hour, since due to high thermal inertia, buildings emerge

as huge untapped sources of thermal energy, and the effect of temperature change does not appear instantaneously. Sequentially, any real-time fluctuations in solar generation or
loads are handled in the shorter timescale, typically few minutes, by controlling the operation of electrical storages and enabling appliance-level load control by individual users. Physically, this may be developed as a multi- agent system which performs multiple parallel processes, independent of each other, all working towards the common goal of high utilization efficiency and low carbon emissions.
“So much technology and associated challenges appear not-so-user-friendly?” Well, the
developed strategy may be easily deployed as a distributed controller, which is as good as a mobile application, flexible autonomous, and allowing a smooth transition of our houses to power houses!
   A poisoned catalyst no more speeds up the methanol production reaction, becomes useless quickly and needs to be replaced. That is why, it is essential to identify and remove any contaminants present in the syngas before feeding it to the methanol production reactor.
