Therefore, it seems that the effect of Niobium, particularly in the solute form, on phase transformations is still not clearly understood. This limits the realization of the benefit of Niobium addition on microstructural modification and subsequent
improvement in the mechanical properties. The indigenous development of steel with superior strength-ductility combinations is necessary for import substitution and to improve the service life of the components in the automotive, and pipeline applications.
