(Malti Founders Pvt. Ltd., Kolhapur, India) has tested the reclaimed sand on a bigger scale over a month-long trial. The feedback indicates that the properties of reclaimed sand have been found to be satisfactory and have met the quality standards after several tests in their in-house lab. A total of more than 1500 castings have been made by this reclaimed sand, and the quality of these castings is found to be excellent. This one-month trial will help to disseminate this technology widely and lay the foundation for its go-to-market strategy.
The two-stage attrition method represents the breakthrough technology that would
appreciably reduce the issue of waste sand disposal. Also, it would cater to the needs of the foundries by making them partially or fully independent of sand mining. I heartily aspire to help preserve the ecosystem by avoiding sand mining and to reduce the environmental footprint by avoiding waste sand disposal. This cherished dream will come true after every single foundry in the country embraces the sand reclamation technology. It is a holistic approach toward establishing zero-waste foundries, thereby working toward an eco- friendly and greener society.
