As a young girl, I grew up in a busy family with 5 siblings in a quaint home located in Brooklyn, New York. At the age of 15, I started my first job as a waitress at Woolworth. As I began to grow into a young woman, people in church started calling me Miss America, and from there the name stuck. I was Miss America!
Years later, at 24 years old, I would go on to meet a kind- hearted young man named Joseph. After 6 months of dating, our hearts were certain, and we tied the knot. We went on to have two beautiful children, Suzanne and Paul.
We built a wonderful life together, and enjoyed spending our time road tripping throughout the U.S. We did this a total of 4 times! By 1972, we were tired of the harsh northern winters and made the decision to move down to Florida. My mother was already here, so it made the decision an easy one for us.
Throughout my life, the Lord blessed me with a lovely home, family, friends, and most importantly my memory to hold onto it all in my heart forever. My advice to the younger generation is: Believe in the Lord, because when you do, things will fall into place, and it will be beautiful.
