The name of the pub comes from a verse from “Wild Rover”. The singer talks about asking for credit, then getting denied. He takes out shiny money with a king or queen’s face on it. (Sovereign’s Bright). This song is a parallel to what servicemen and women might encounter when returning from service. This pub serves as a place to relive the camaraderie of their fellow veterans.
