               Dear Mrs. Peasley:

Your Medicare evaluation is enclosed. Please check the information on the client data sheet on
page 5 and on the attached list of your Rx drugs to make sure it is correct.

In most cases the costs shown in your evaluation are estimates for the entire 2018 plan year.
Some of Medicare’s costs, however, are the 2017 numbers – that’s because Medicare has not
yet said how much Part B premiums and the Part B deductible will be next year. And the 2018
cost-sharing amounts for various Medicare-covered services aren’t known yet, so on pages 6-7
the 2017 numbers are used. The estimated prescription drug costs on pages 3 and 4 are for
2018 and your Medigap premium estimates should be close to what you will pay next year.

You indicated that you are interested in comparing both types of coverage – Medigap policies
and Medicare Advantage plans. The evaluation compares two Medigap plans (F and L) and two
               Medicare Advantage plans.

               Medigap plans

It might help to review features that all Medigap policies share (you may already be aware of
these). They can be purchased during the first six months you have Part A and Part B without
your having to answer health-related questions.

After that six-month period has past, though, if you want to acquire a Medigap policy, you will
likely have to answer questions about your health before receiving a premium quote (and
people who have serious pre-existing conditions may be denied coverage). If you get a Medigap
policy, in the state of Washington you can switch companies at any time of (to get a lower
premium ) or to a different Medigap plan (from Plan L to Plan F, for instance) without having to
               answer health questions.

Therefore, people who already have a Medigap policy have the freedom to move from one plan
to another or from one insurance company to another without being medically underwritten.
The only exception is that people who have the lowest-level plan -- Medigap Plan A-- do not
have this guaranteed right, which is explained on the first page of Appendix B.
