Appendix 3 – “Sanctity of Life” Scriptures

The Bible affirms the Sanctity of “Life”

1. Gen. 1:26-28 – GOD made us in HIS image; both male and
female HE created us, and HE blessed us and commanded us
to reproduce and multiply.
2. Exodus 23:7 – Do not kill the innocent or the righteous. For I
will not justify the wicked.
3. Deuteronomy 5:7 – Thou shall not have other gods before
ME.

We must not value or hold anything above our GOD.
4. Deuteronomy 5:17 – Thou shall not kill. This means taking
innocent life. The Bible makes it clear that GOD does not hold
war against us.
5. Deuteronomy 5:18 – Thou shall not commit adultery.
The sin of abortion traces to three sins that are forbidden by
the Ten Commandments; (1) allowing our career or life
priorities to take precedence over our faithfulness to GOD, (2)
sexual sin, (3) aborting an innocent life to nullify the mistakes
of these sins. While GOD compassionately forgives, HE
delegates no person the authority to do this.

6. Deuteronomy 18:10 - There shall not be found among you
anyone who makes his son or his daughter pass through the
fire, . . .
7. Deuteronomy 30:19 - Choose life in order that you may live,
you and your descendants.
8. II Kings 16:1-3 - But he (Ahaz) walked in the way of the kings
of Israel; indeed he made his son pass through the fire,
according to the abominations of the nations whom the

LORD had cast out from before the children of Israel.
