9. Social media giants are serving as “Judge, Jury and
Executioner” of Speech and Thought. By default,
Social Media giants now have enormous power to
regulate the content that passes through their
platforms. Such companies now judge what

constitutes acceptable and unacceptable content.
Dangers arise when their judgments favor one social
or political ideology over another. Extreme danger
arises when their judgements become a force of
activism that favors one social or political ideology
while suppressing content that espouses the counter
ideology. For example, policies must never block
conservative-leaning content while ignoring similar

content from progressive or radical leftist producers.

Unfortunately, numerous incidents have arisen
where conservative content has been blocked while
left-leaning or progressive content retains
unfettered access. Numerous examples have
revealed instances where conservative content or

political leaders are blocked in search engines.
Other examples include instances where
conservatives are tagged to disparaging searches of
such vile tags as racists, white supremacy, Nazi, etc.
Today, victims of such unfairness have virtually no
legal redress. Social Media giants have an

extraordinary responsibility. Social Media has the
choice and the power to uphold liberty and freedom
or enforce tyranny.
