Jerry Torrence – With over 28 years of
service in military, civilian, and a
combination of both military and civilian
organizations, I have been blessed to
master the art and science of leadership.
I have commanded, directed, and
managed organizations of varying sizes
and complexity. In all challenges, I have
discovered that the most effective form of leadership is Servant
leadership. More specifically, the leadership style of JESUS
CHRIST!
My heart’s journey to serve CHRIST unfolded over several years.
It took many turns and paths, and is inextricably linked to my
proclivity for service and leadership that boldly speaks truth.
Couple this with the logical thinking that comes with a science and
military background; it is clear why a true understanding of
Scripture often eluded me. Yet somehow, I knew there had to be
more. There was something I was missing. It was not until years
later when I finally surrendered my own efforts and
understanding and sought GOD for help that the eyes of my
understanding were opened. The HOLY SPIRIT clearly directed me
to subdue my intellect and open my heart! The transformation
was amazing! With the HOLY SPIRIT as my guide, I was led to
some exceptionally anointed Pastors and Bible teachers. The
WORD became alive to me! My thinking, perspectives, and
understanding began to change. I began to realize that my
various military and civilian assignments were, in fact, a mission
field in which GOD had granted me influence to advance HIS
purpose.

Upon retiring from active service and returning to the Huntsville
Alabama area, I met Ernie Rapiere at a Bible study. As ardent
students of the Bible and its prophecy, we soon realized that we
had been brought together to boldly share what had been
downloaded into our hearts through our separate life
experiences. “Beast Rising” is the first of several writings that we
are mutually inspired to write.
